Mezzotint,
An attractive print of a keen imbiber, depicting a corkscrew with brush. Bee?s wing is a light film of potassium bitartratethat forms on top of the poured wine like fine port as a result of considerable sediment from long-aged bottles. It was, then, a sign of a fine old bottle of port. Because of this painting the artist became known as 'Bee's Wing' Sharpe.
